Initial Visit
- Evaluation– At your initial visit, you can expect to have an in-depth medical history and physical exam to identify the source of the issue, as well as a possible biomechanical assessment to identify and address any other contributing areas
- Ultrasound– If needed, a diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound exam of the soft tissues that surround and help stabilize the joint may be completed to assess the injury
- Supplementary Imaging– We will review any other imaging reports you’ve provided us and, if needed, order any other necessary imaging to clearly see and address your condition
Treatment Planning – Appropriate treatment options will be presented at your first or second appointment (depending on the need for imaging or further record review) which may include:
- Medical Treatment
- Diagnostic Injections – injections to confirm or rule out source of pain prior to recommending optimal treatment plan
- Bracing, if needed, to support the joint
- Regenerative treatment and/or injections to address your diagnosed condition and pain
- Physical Rehab and/or Chiropractic Care – Collaboration with experts in Physical Medicine to promote functional improvement, healing and prevent re-injury, which may include:
- Chiropractic Care to address underlying alignment issues
- Decompression to treat reduced joint space or nerve compression
- Gradually and strategically adding stress to the injured area post-regenerative procedures to facilitate and encourage ongoing recovery
- Work to re-balance agonist/antagonist muscle groups crucial for providing stability to the joint
- Regain physical activity independence by achieving function-specific goals
Follow-Up/ Recovery– Will be discussed and scheduled based on type of procedure
At your appointments you will receive specific instructions for recovery based on the type of treatment you are having and the area being treated. You will also receive instructions for follow-up appointments with your Medical Providers.
